Because living with vitiligo is about more than your skin.
Vitiligo may change the appearance of your skin, but its impact can go far beyond what others see.
It can influence how you feel about yourself, how comfortable you are in social situations, how you respond to other people's reactions, and sometimes, the decisions you make about how you live your life.
At VitHelp, we believe the psychological side of vitiligo deserves just as much attention as the physical.
Our purpose is simple: to help people living with vitiligo build confidence, strengthen their emotional wellbeing, and live more freely in their skin.
Through psychology-based resources, practical tools, education, and meaningful conversations, VitHelp offers a space to explore the emotional challenges of vitiligo and discover ways to move forward.
Because you deserve support that goes beyond your skin.
The Story Behind VitHelp
Created from both personal experience and professional understanding.
Hi, I'm Jess, a registered psychologist and the founder of VitHelp. I've been living with vitiligo since I was 13 years old. I understand that vitiligo isn't always just about the changes we see in the mirror. It's also about the thoughts, emotions, experiences, and sometimes invisible struggles that come with living in skin that looks different. There can be moments of confidence and moments of self-consciousness. Times when vitiligo barely crosses your mind, and others when it feels difficult not to think about it. And sometimes, the hardest part isn't the vitiligo itself, but the meaning we attach to it, the reactions we anticipate from others, or the things we begin avoiding because of how we feel about our appearance. Through my own experiences and my work as a psychologist, I've become passionate about helping people understand and navigate these challenges. I created VitHelp to bring together two important perspectives: the lived experience of vitiligo and the science of psychology. My hope is to make psychological knowledge more accessible, practical, and relevant to the everyday experiences of people living with vitiligo. Not to tell you how you should feel about your skin, but to give you tools to navigate those feelings in ways that support the life you want to live.
